Sumaira Ahmed is the creator of The Sumaira Foundation: a non-profit organization that aims to combat and bring awareness to Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder (NMOSD). After beginning her career in the field of public relations, Sumaira’s life was changed in 2014 when she was diagnosed with seronegative neuromyelitis optica/CRION. However, Sumaira did not let this unfortunate event hinder her. Instead, she used her experience with this disease to fight for the well-being of others who may be fighting a similar battle. Sumaira’s resilience led to the creation of The Sumaira Foundation not long after she was diagnosed.
